The book is undated but the advertisement at the back of the book for other Bradbury Agnew publications is dated 1885

The book has coloured and black and white illustrations throughout by John Leech
  
The frontispiece is a coloured engraving on steel and there are 12 other coloured engravings on steel with paper guards

The book is in an acceptable condition considering how old it is - text clean - no inscriptions

There is age related foxing throughout 

The book has a red bevelled board cover with gilt embossed titles and black decoration

The spine is a little faded/dull and there are marks on the cover (please see the photos)

There is damage to the top and base of the spine and corners (board showing)  

The front end paper and frontispiece are detached from the body of the book

The front hinge has split and the body of the book is loose in the binding (please see the photos)
